Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton escaped the struggles that shaped her life at an early age thanks to her inventive and innovative imagination. Before she learned to read and write she began to compose the songs she wrote herself. When she was 8years old, she purchased the first electric guitar she owned and began to sing at a Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. She recorded her first album during the same year Gold Band Records, a small label that was an independent. In high school she was able to establish herself within the school community but her goals were bigger. After she finished her high school, in 1964 she moved to Nashville. Her first charting hits with Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. The syndicated television show of Porter Wagoner needed a new singer at around this time. Parton signed with RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She took on the role in 1967. Then, in 1974, she left Wagoner's Show because the success of her own songs such as Joshua Coats Of Many Colors or Jolene was outstripping their joint releases. Parton, after the split of their partnership with Wagoner, wrote"I'll Always Be Loved" by You and saw it climb to the top spot at No. The first time it reached the top spot was in 1974.
